A day for amazing kids

I don’t know who this boy is, but I can’t help but be moved by this photo. It makes all the challenges in my life seems so small.

Today, we took a family trip to Science World, as we entered, we saw Spider Man. He is not usually at Science world and from what I could tell he wasn’t hired to be there. It’s too early for Halloween I thought.
My son couldn’t resist a chance to talk to Spidey, but as soon as he said hello, and they shook hands. Spidey excused himself because another boy had caught his eye.

The women next to him, said that he didn’t mean to seem rude. The boy he went to meet, believes that the man in the costume is really Spider Man. The man in the costume, is really his uncle, and has been showing up at all the special places the boy has been going to. The little boy about 7 or 8 wearing a bike helmet, has brain cancer. He only has a little time left, so his family has been trying to fulfill all his dreams by taking him to special places, and his friend Spiderman is always there.

I choked out the story to my husband in the middle of Science World. I will never cease to be amazed with children and how strong they are. How young they can be and yet teach the elders strength, determination and the power of hope and dreams. I will never be able to experience stories like theirs and not see God. There is so much love in the world and so much beauty, I have to be thanksful to be here to see it and to be moved.

Look at the big genuine grin on that boy face! I will feel ashamed if I moan a little more about myself.

And that's one big, encouraging experience you have at Science World. I pray for him and his family (and his spidey uncle) although I never met them.
