(Amedeo Modigiliani )

Today’s art is mine, it is actually my demo samples I did for the students. I kept them because I quite liked one of them and have thought of framing it.

Materials Used: Flesh tone chalk pastels, neutral color pastels and smudging sticks. Painting the background was optional.

I would like to frame my assistances as well, because I think she did a rockin’ job.

She was my assistant for the class but is also an amazing Instructor herself.

Amedeo Modigiliani had me from the go. I was in University’s when I was first introduced to his work. I love the uniqueness of it. I find his portraits stunning.

I do admit my students around the ages of 7-9 find his work strange, but its fun to push them beyond what we deem “normal”.

The first thing they question are the eyes, and then the neck. Modigilianis’ proportions are what makes his works so interesting to me and lovely.

What art do you love?
