Back for a bit

December 15, 2010 | Commentbe the first to comment, you know you want to! |

It’s been a whirlwind of busy times, fun and festivities have started.

Portobello West kept me much busier than I imagined, the shop and my sons kindergarten class.
We finally have some slow time coming. All shop and local orders are complete and sent. Yay.

With all the sewing and orders, I was also given the task to make two costumes, one was easy ( a strap for a ladybug shell and antenna) the other not so much. I was given a piece of fabric and was asked to make a robe for St. Francis. I have never made long sleeves or a hood ( with the exception of a doll hood). The material was not something I used before, so I was nervous. It was certainly a learning experience and I will know how to make it better in the future.

In the play, my son was a ladybug. I was so proud, I asked what made him choose a ladybug, he said “because I didn’t want to be the chicken”.
He is so sweet that a ladybug is fitting for him, He did such a great job.

The next week he had a speaking part in an assembly. I packed up the wee ones and we went to see him speak, he was so happy to see us in school hours.

He can read now, that’s right, read, like a book from front to back with no help. I couldn’t be more proud and excited for him.

I am finding hard to take great photos with a baby strapped to my front. The lens that could make this better is out of my budget for now, so I make due. Hopefully they are just good enough for him to recall the memories.

Will be back to share more this week. In the mean time enjoy some vintage toons we have been enjoying.
