His Birthday

My husband is hard to shop for, so I was happy when he said he wanted to take a shopping trip for his birthday. He is the shopper of us two ( with the exception of groceries).

So we headed to Portland for some tax free shopping, and some eats. I came home one Saturday from work and my oldest and husband were going on and on about these donuts they saw on the food network. While I didn’t have a donut, they seemed to live up to the show they saw.

We also headed over to Slappy cakes, I had read about it in a Rachel Ray Issue my mom had over the summer.

The wait was about 45 minutes on a Sunday, pretty normal. With three little ones, one being just over a year, we usually try to avoid such a wait. By the time we got to our table, the littlest was ready for his morning nap. It was hard to get photos because I was a little worried someone would end up touching the grill. I was wrong, but still on my toes. The pancakes were not that great, by that I mean the taste. I can say it was fun and the service was fantastic!! I say it’s worth a one time experience, my husband rating was, they need better pancakes.

He did come back with a small loot, and some shoes for me, what a guy! He gives me gifts on his day.

Loving the idea of that pancake house — seriously going to have to go there one day with my girls!
