Jackson and a rainy day

On my list of things to do before summer ends was a blank canvas, 6 actually.
I was suppose to finish this painting before my second was born, he will be two soon. ekkks!!

To my defense, I had started it, but wasn’t happy with where it was going so I set it aside, for say…a year. My second idea was an all white nest, but husband thinks I bring to much nature into the house.

So, one dreary afternoon, it hit me, Jackson Pollock.

So I got the kids in some scrubby clothes, and we created the new art work for our living room. I chose the color pallet.
While we were painting, I asked my sons, doesn’t it sound like rain hitting the roof? My oldest replied, no, I think its shooting stars.

And so it is, our art piece, called Shooting Stars

The kids were so proud to see it go up.

Wow that is such a great idea.

Hey I just wanted to say I received my apron parcel! Thank you so so much – I love it. I'm just in the middle of writing a post. I was worried the postal service had lost it BUT I'm so glad it finally found it's way here. And thanks for the extras 😉

what a cool project, way to commission some great (and cheap) artists! Some of my favorite "art" hung in our house are the ones created by the girls too.

I am really impressed! That turned out wonderfully! You are so clever, now you've got me thinking! My kids are great artists and some of the things they draw, I am blown away. Yes, they are "kid" drawings and paintings, but there is something so raw and fresh about them that I LOVE! Thanks for this post…I'll be getting my paints out today because of you!
