Meet Marley a true doll

One day I was having a down day…a wonder if I should keep this up day. My dolls were selling ever so slowly.

Then I got an email that made me realize why I wanted to start the Rice Babies in the first place.

A women had adopted the beautiful little girl you see in the photos. An truly amazing story. I felt beyond privileged to make Marley her first doll, and one that looked like her.

I received the most heart warming email form her mom when the doll had arrived. Her mom is an incredibly amazing single mom who wasn’t given full maternity leave, as she didn’t give birth. (jaw drop)

I pray for this beautiful little family and I think how loved that little girl will be.

I sent some extras and I wont be forgetting little Marley at Christmas time either.

Some thing are worth the wait, and that sale was one of them. When people need my dolls, they will find me……and I will be here.

In Australia there's parental leave (can be taken by Mum or Dad) and adoption leave, all with the same provisions. There's a lot we're yet to get right, but we are heading in the right direction with this one. My eldest sister and her husband have just adopted two brothers, aged 6 and 8. My hat goes off to all parents of adopted kids – I think they are very special!
