My creative space – Spool of aThread Sewing Lounge

I am a day off for this but I have to share.

This is just about the coolest creative space for me. I have been waiting months for them to open.

I saw them just by driving by, as they were doing their renovations. I noticed people inside, I couldn’t help myself, I knocked on the window. A woman came out and I asked what the shop would be as Spool of Thread caught my eye.

When she told me it would be a sewing lounge, I was super excited. The lovely lady was Lilli herself, talk about DIY. She was working on the window display (a pretty little bunting banner) while Henry was in the back painting. Two very nice people and they had help from their dog, who was also there and greeted me.

A place to come and drop in a sew, hand out with other seamstress, what could be better? Its not far from my house and it offers classes.

I just dropped by the other day and the window changed from bunting banners to hot air balloons, which I love.

I would love to take the vintage top class, but not with a baby belly, so most likely I will just be dropping in. It will be my little time away from the house.

If you are a Vancouverite, come out and sew up something with me. Also make sure to drop in on Friday the 18th for their Etsy Birthday celebration. I’ll be making it out, you cant miss me and my baby bump.
