My First Market at Blim

On Sunday, I had my first market experience. It was ……..magical.

I don’t know if every market experience is the same, or if it was perhaps the season, but I cant tell you you how happy I am.

I wish I had photos of my little set up, but I didn’t think to bring my camera, because I was nervous about it being my first time. I wasn’t sure what to expect as it was only 4 days until Christmas, and it wasn’t pleasant weather for the day either.

I brought some vintage inspired fabric as my table cloth, and I set up a small tree that I placed my dolls around. The Christmas music was blaring, it felt festive. I was worried about my stock when I saw the other tables. I had a few dolls, crown, brooches and some vintage fabric squares with dolls on them. I also set out my cards and candy canes.I talked to other crafters who said they weren’t expecting a big turn out either.

I was across from A Farmers Daughter, Firefly Notes and A Cagey Bee and to my left was Baby Elephant Design.

Everyone from crafters to customers had so many kind words about my dolls and crowns. My dolls were the first to sale out. The traffics was heavy then slow, heavy and the slow, but it was a nice pace.

I ate from the Blim Restaurant called Open Sesame, which is homemade Japaneses food. For lunch I had Black Sesame Duck Salad Dojo and a baked yam, which was so good I could have licked the plate. For dinner I had The Compassionate Cloud Miso Chicken Nabe, starring tukuan. I know right, is every market this dreamy?

Mid day Baby Elephant gave my row and the row in front of us a divine chocolate truffles. Are all crafters always this kind? wow.

These are a few treasure I left with. A magnet from A Cagey Bee, an Owl pin from Baby Elephant Design, a beautiful wallet made from a vintage hanky, and a screen printed hanky. The last two items weren’t from the same place, neither people had a card, so the name escapes me, but the work is beautiful.

My dolls were the first to sale out, I had people come back to ask for more, my winter girl brooches didn’t last half the day, and I had a woman approach me about making custom crown for a new shop she just opened up. Very exciting!!

I came home with only three items, and I felt very blessed. Later we went to church and I gave all the money in tithe , to say thank to God for the great day, and for giving me talent and ability’s and for the great season.

Happy Monday Y’all.
