The Traveling Do Gooder

Will you be traveling soon?
Are you a do gooder?

I have found this most amazing site called, Stuff Your Rucksack.

It’s a site you can visit before a trip that lists things that place may be in need of. Its very cool, and such a brilliant idea.

Unfortunately I won’t be traveling for a while, but I did look up several places, items range to pencils, colored pencils, fishing equipment and also in some places bras. I bet you could slip some handmade stuffies in their too, who doesn’t need something to play with?

Last year I gave a few gift cards from Tis Best away. My cousin in law was/is trying to teach her son how other kids need things and how blessed his life is. Since he is old enough to understand, I got him gift card from Tis best. He was able to go online and pick any charity he wanted to use his gift card on, I can’t wait until my son is old enough and I can do the same with him. Although we have started by our first Toy Society drop.

I am sure you have found many ways to donate, below are a list of places were you can donate handmade items. On my list this year, are handmade pads to Africa.

Pads4girls – make or buy pads for girls who need them

Craft Hope- on going projects for different places

Craft Hope Spreading seeds of hope one stitch at a time

Project Linus For children who are seriously ill, traumatized, or otherwise in need through the gifts of new, handmade blankets and afghans, lovingly created by volunteer “blanketeers.”

There are many more, if you have one, let me know. I would love to donate something handmade.
