We heart reading

It’s still winter-y around these parts. We had snow just the other day, although it didn’t stick.

This lovely book is one you want on your shelf. The illustrations are are so pretty, you might just want to frame your book.

Two reason to love this book other than its loveliness:

It teaches to sing the dark away (obviously as the cover says) it shows imagination and courage.

It also makes a great art project, I suggest black construction paper, white , light brown and maybe a small amount of green. Paint long lovely birch trees and some snowy hills, maybe even a snow man, then before the paint dries, take a pencil and make tiny footprints through the snow.

For the older ones, you could even include black paint and make nice forest animal silhouettes in the woods.
